Why is this study being done?

This study is being done to evaluate whether the use of the study medicine PF-04494700 is able to change the rate of cognitive decline in subjects with Alzheimer's disease (AD).

In this study, people with AD will be given placebo (a pill that does not have any drug) or one of two doses of PF-04494700 for 18 months to determine whether daily PF-04494700 therapy is beneficial in delaying or altering deterioration in memory and daily functioning.

Who is Eligible to Participate in the Study?

Subjects with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease 50-90 years old
