Why is this study being done?

The purpose of this study is to look for genes that are the cause of epilepsy and to look for genes that have an impact on the effectiveness of over the counter and prescription medicines used to treat epilepsy.

Who is Eligible to Participate in the Study?

Participants must have epilepsy and have a sibling with epilepsy, OR, have epilepsy and have both parents available to participate in the blood draw and questionnaire.

50

What is Involved With this Study?

Participants will have 2 vials of blood drawn and will be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire (medical history information, etc.)

How long will the Study run?

Participation will require a one time visit, which will last approximately 2-3 hours.
